Justin Stolz sings for memories and more

September 2016

I remember having the honour seeing Justin Stolz at a Christmas Eve concert at First Wesley United Church. He was magnificent as he sang accompanied by his friend and fellow accomplished musician Liam Curran on the church’s prized pipe organ. The evening of music was magical and I knew that Justin was destined for bigger stages.

He graduated from The Royal Conservatory of Music (The Glenn Gould School) in 2015 and was accepted into the prestigious Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. “I guess it’s pretty exciting considering the school is considered one of the best, if not the best opera school in the US,” laughs Justin. He’s making the most of this opportunity to learn and develop his skills and acting chops. Last November Justin placed first in the S. Livingston Mather singing competition in Cleveland, Ohio. And in late February he made his Indiana University Opera debut as Don José in Bizet’s Carmen. In November, 2016 Justin will be performing as B.F. Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly.

If readers want to watch Stolz in the Carmen production, look for him in the February 27th cast at this link: http://music.indiana.edu/iumusiclive/streaming.

Justin will be performing in Thunder Bay on November 25th with his friend Diego Catala (Baritone) at the Valhalla Inn Ballroom in a concert fundraiser for Memory Lane Gardens Charity. Tickets are available at ITAL-UIL at 1111 Victoria Ave. E.

The Memory Lane Gardens Charity is a local charity that raises money to build safe gardens and outdoor spaces specifically for patients suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia.
