Fall 2008

Having spent most of the summer nights enjoying my backyard deck, I am amazed at the wildlife that makes an appearance in the average Thunder Bay yard.

This summer, I had a family of birds nesting above my outdoor audio speakers—good thing they like Motown! I also attracted a rare indigo bunting to my birdfeeder. My favorite scrapper squirrel (I named him Rocky) has been working like a fiend to gather up as much food as possible for the winter season. And now as I write this, a skunk has managed to burrow his way under my deck, no doubt planning his long winter sleep.

No matter where you live in the city, wildlife lives in co existence around us—just another reason to love Thunder Bay. Enjoy this issue of Bayview and have a great fall.
