It’s the hottest ticket anywhere as Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour comes to Toronto for 6 nights in November.
According to the Times of London, the singer has earned $14.7 million per show with 152 global dates.
Tickets in the upper level sections of the Rogers Centre on secondary ticket websites can currently be found at $3,000+ per ticket. But one Thunder Bay family got truly lucky. Late last year, Serena Cristoforo applied for an received a special code through Ticketmaster, waited in the online waiting room and then was able to snag 3 tickets to the show at a face value of $95 each. Serena 19, Victoria 15 and Daniela (their mother. let’s call her 21), can’t wait for the event. “We ordered sparkly Taylor inspired clothing for each of us,” said Daniela, a co-owner of Grower Direct Flowers on Red River Road. “It’s going to be so much fun, we’ll be celebrating Victoria’s sweet 16 birthday together”, says Daniella.
Many of the cities on Swift’s itinerary have felt the economic impact of the tour, with Daniela admitting that trying to find a hotel was a challenge. “The hotels in downtown Toronto were either booked or priced over $1,000 a night. We settled for a hotel close to the airport where it was more reasonable. It should make for a lasting memory we’ll cherish for a lifetime”, said Daniela.
