Downtown renovation takes advantage of Lake Superior views

September 2025

Congratulations to Mike Parry and his dedicated construction team at Lakehead Property Solutions on the completion of their latest renovation project at 380 Dufferin Street. Parry recently purchased the former Catholic Family Development Centre building and transformed it into 4 modern executive rental residences. When initially looking at the property, Parry saw the potential for capturing the lake views. The vaulted ceilings were achieved by tearing off the old roof, extending the walls and installing a newly designed roof which allowed for vaulted ceilings and dormers allowing a nearly 360 degree view of the city. Each of the units contain custom built-in cabinetry, deluxe appliances and granite tops. Parry says the project was his most ambitious to date. “It took about 2 years from drawings to completion and I couldn’t be happier with the end result”.

As I left the building after my tour, a neighbour stopped me to ask if it was my building. “I’ve been meaning to speak to the owner, I’ve lived in the neighbourhood for 40+ years and have admired how the building has been transformed. It’s a beautiful addition to the neighbourhood”, shared the neighbour.

Parry and his team have since moved on to yet another renovation project and they're always on the lookout for houses or multi-family buildings to purchase that are in need of their transformative touch.
