Resilience to adapt

June 2021

Well, here we are…the start of a summer filled with hope. Vaccines have finally begun to reach us, the province is letting recreation activities happen, and our local businesses are beginning to see a path forward.

Other than the worry that gripped us when Covid cases began spiking earlier in the year, I’m amazed by our community’s resilience in the face of adversity.

There were certainly many tragic hardships over the past year, and our hearts go out to those that struggled or have lost loved ones. As we prepared this issue, I was concerned that after a long period of lockdown there would be fewer stories to bring your way. But instead, we found artists doing their art, shops opening for sales, planners doing their planning and restaurants preparing their patios.

Let’s hope we can all come together again and enjoy our summer playground and the great community we’re so lucky to live in.

I hope you enjoy this issue as much as we did putting it together. Stay safe, and have a great summer!

Sincerely,
